اضافت  واتساب خيارًا جديدًا يتيح للمستخدمين تحديد جهات اتصال محددة يمكنهم إضافتك إلى المجموعات، وذلك بعد ان تعرض التطبيق للكثير من الانتقادات كون اغلب المجموعات تعد مصدر للازعاج.
وللوصول الى الميزة الجديدة :
1. ادخل إلى (الإعدادات) Settings 
2. (الحساب) Account
3. (الخصوصية) Privacy
4. (المجموعات) Groups
5. ستجد الخيارات “الجميع” Everyone، و”جهات اتصالي” My Contacts، والخيار الجديد “جهات اتصالي ما عدا …” My Contact except
6. اضغط على خيار (جهات اتصالي ما عدا ..) وقم باختيار جهات الاتصال القادرة على إضافتك إلى المجموعات.
